View Full Version : What happens when your bite is off?

Just wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem. Long story short. About 2 years ago I had a crown on one of my upper left teeth. Ever since my dentist and I have had problems adjusting my bite so that of course my teeth will touch when I bite down. Lately though I have had excrutiating pain in my left jaw it will swell every other day and it aches. I had periodontal issues as well so my insurance was all used up by July of 2005. So i went to the root canal dentist he says that crown must be redone? And the tooth beside it needs a rootcanal too. This is quite expensive. Is there any other alternative to re-doing that crown. Any suggestions or advice are appreciated. Did I mention that my regular dentist did the crown and the root canal dentist was not impresssed with this person's work? I don't know what to do HELP!! I just can't believe I have to have a whole new crown put on the original crown? I am afraid that my dentist is incompetent. What a bummer. I am really tired of all of these dental issues. I do take care of my teeth I am really discouraged. I have also started taking more Vitamin C and Calcium with D thinking maybe it will help my teeth and gums.

Thanks CK
