I just got denied for my breast reduction. I am in shambles right now. I am a 32 DDD and my little body can't hold this anymore. The back pain is inconceivably horrible. I can't even bend my head back anymore without it killing me because of the upper back pain. I can't sleep right, stand right, sit right, exericise right, move right....LIVE RIGHT!!! and they deny me. My surgeon said i'd be a shoe in. and they deny me. they want me to see an orthopedic doctor for more documentation...how long that'll take to get in is to be seen...and then send in the letter again...wait two more months....and maybe they'd cover me....i can't wait anymore. My health is deteriorating day by day...and my mental health is at its wits end. I can't stop crying about it. I know i shouldn't get all emotional over it and be rational and think of how to fix it and maybe get a loan...or maybe there's a payment plan...but i can't help but be upset. is that okay? I need some advice or something. thanks.

do you excersize regularly? you should ride the stationary bike every other day and try to decrease your calorie intake. if you shed some good pounds, you are likely to see some natural reduction in your chest size.

Vent away..you deserve it. Maybe there are some back support garments that they could supply in the mean time. Insurance cos. just seem to like people to jump through hoops. I guess they hope you'll give up. I don't think the advice from swissbliss is too helpful, sounds like it would be painful, and they don't make bras much smaller than 32 chest anyway. Best of luck.

Don't give up trying to get your insurance to pay. I was denied 3 times before they approved. I just basically kept bugging the crap out of them. I went to the doctor every 2 months complaining. I am 5'0 tall and am a 38 DDD. I am a little overweight but even when I lose my breasts are still there. I am scheduled for breast reduction and lift on Jan. 31st. I am thrilled. If you keep bugging them maybe they will give in. If not, then try a loan or payment plan. You have to do what you can for yourself. You need this surgery and don't let anyone make you feel like you don't. Forget the advice about the stationary bike. Exercise is very painful for someone with a huge chest!

I had my BR back in "99" and I am very happy with mine....I wish I could have went smaller but the PS said that it wouldn't look right on my body frame. My Insurance covered mine 100% and was never denied. I know that you may have problems but you have to make it look to them that you need it done, what I am saying start going to the Chiro for a few months, and or if you have ever had back problems that you had to go to the dr about make sure you get those records and you could even go to your regular dr and see if they will confirm that your back problems are from having large breast...the things that the Insurance looks for is the indent in your shoulder and the size, if they sag at all and if you have had any record of pass problems. So if you have contact that dr and get the records.

I had a BR in 99 as well and my insurance paid for it. But not with out a fight. Do you go to the Chiro? That is what did it for me, I had been going for a couple of years and he wrote out a long letter to insurance about how bad my breasts were affecting my overall health. You need to go to the doctor every couple weeks if you can and complain about your back and shoulders. Soon the insurance will get sick of paying for these visits and will decide it will be cheaper to pay for the surgery. Document everything yourself so you have back up info. If your surgeon says you are a sho in then there is a way you can get insurance to pay. Look up your legal options and get all the info you can to help you fight.

I know how you feel about the pain and mental aungish I was a 36G and weighed about 160 (after my first son) In high school I was a 34DDD and weighed only 120 pounds, you know all of the negative attention I got!!!!
I'm so sorry about the way you are feeling. You need to become MAD and get educated on all your options and beat that insurance co in the ground!!!

Good Luck

Don't give up on the insurance. I worked for a national health insurer and the rule was that every claim was denied on the first try. On the second try, the claim went to a claims person whose job was to find a reason to deny. Only the people who tried a third time actually made it through to someone who could approve their claim. Do not give up!!
