My husband and I decided to start trying for a baby. I got off the pill back in July. Since getting off the pill, my cycles were normal up until I missed my November period. I was 2 weeks late (never happened before) so I took a test and it was negative. I went to the doctors for my yearly check-up and mentioned this to her. They gave me another test (negative) and also sent me for blood work to be on the safe side. I was not pregnant and they also checked my thyroid and it was normal. They gave me a prescription (can't think of the name...started with a "P") and it made me have a period within 10 days. It was very light and only lasted 3 days. They told me not to call back unless I didn't get my period...well this month I missed my period again. I am a week late again.
Has this ever happened to anyone or does anyone know what the cause could be? :confused:

hey its a relief to see i am not the only one who is having this problem i should have started my period on the 3 re of nov and it still hasn't showed up yet i too have taken preg test which has all came back negative. i haven't went to the doctor yet but i am going to probally next week. the medicine you were talking about i think is provera i have been on it about 2 years ago. i know it is very stressing not having your period and wandering what is going on espically when you are trying to get pregnant. sorry i really don't have an answer for you i just wanted you to know that you are not alone in this.

The last time I was on the pill and went off.... it took over a year for my periods to become completely normal again. Soemtimes I would get them every month on time and then nothing for a couple/few months. Not one of those times was I pregnant. My body was jsut still trying to adjust to not having those daily hormones from the pill I guess. My doctor wasn't too concerened about it. It was a long time ago though...

I had all these thoughts about infertility. I changed positions at work back in March and it's a very stressful job. I thought maybe stress was why my body was doing this..I started taking vitamins and exercising, so hopefully af will visit me soon so my husband and I can have a baby.
I guess if that doesn't happen, we'll take a vacation or something :)
