I have a slightly misaligned bite and crossbite, i didn't really notice this until last month for some reason.

I was quite curious about the effects of this so i decided to do a little research on the internet...this is where i stumbled across 'tmj'.

Before this i never had any problems, but a month on, i seem to be showing alot of the signs of tmj and i am in quite alot of discomfort.

This is either a strange coincidence, or i have somehow convinced myself that i have tmj?

I know this sounds odd, but i don't suppose anybody could shed any light on the matter?

The best way to determine if you have TMJ disorder (TMJ are the joints where your lower jaw hingesto the upper - pretty much) is to go to your dentist and tell them your concerns. Symptoms can range from headaches, limited jaw opening, pain on all your teeth, jaw pain, unable to rotate your head and neck in various directions without pain, etc.. If you do have TMJ problems, then they would be able to help you out.

I have TMJ - it comes and goes. I have a mouth guard to wear at night. Before I had perio work done, the dentist worked on my bite, by polishing down my teeth in order to allign them. Definately your dentist will be able to help with this problem. I find that reading too much on the internet makes me nervous !!
