I think I might have an STD. I have a weird bump on my vagina and it burns every time I go to the bathroom. I'm 16 years old and I have never had sex or done anything even close to that. I've only kissed a guy ONCE and that was like a couple years ago. But I have heard that you can get STDs from like public bathroom toilets or something like that. I'm really worried because I've never had anything like this happen to me. Can anyone help me? I'm worried that it's an STD. What else could it be?

first of all, it's not an STD, because, in order for it to be sexually transmitted disease, you will have to have had sex. The toilet bowl excuse is a myth. So, given that it's not an STD, you need to have this checked out by a physician who will be able to diagnosis this and treat it. OK?

Thank you! That makes me feel so much better. I have an appointment to see my doctor tomorrow. Thanks again! :D

it sounds you are infected with syphilis, or maybe just a yeast infection. yes it is true you can get Gonorrhea, Chlamydia and Syphilis from using public bathroom toilets.

The only way you can get STD's from a public restroom is if an infected person say down on the toilet seat with her vagina on the seat...and then next person would have to go in RIGHT away and sit down with her vagina on the seat as well. It is very highly UNLIKELY to get an STD from a toilet seat...the viruses won't be able to live outside of a human body for that long. Not to mention...most women that I know of anyway, unless I was taught wrong to use the restroom, sits with her vagina on the seat...if that were to happen, the urine would not go into the toilet. And the chances of two women back to back going in with their vagina touching the seat is hardly unlikely.

It would be highly unlikely to have an STD. You are wise to see a doctor to find out what is really going on.
