Just when you think it's all going to plan.....along comes a ct scan.....and the news isn't so good.

After nearly 9 months of ups and downs one would think that things would start to go to plan...and they nearly did.....except along comes the dreaded ct scan.....and things suddenly seem so bleak.

Ct scan comes back with the final summary comment of........while there has been a slight reduction in size of some of the liver sesions, due to the presence of new lymphadenopathy and lung lesions, this is progressive disease., after months of chemo, and then to top it off........blood clots appear!!!!!! and the picc line becomes useless and has to be taken out..and surgery is scheduled for an infusion port to be implanted next week...........how much more can my poor darling husbands body take? it's so damn unfair

Sorry but had to vent and can't do it at home for fear of upsetting our daughters....its just so bloody unfair

Oh Maria_z, I am so sorry to hear the news. This disease really puts you on a rollercoaster of hope then disappointment! I can understand your need to vent. How is your husband taking the news?

Keep us updated and take care of yourself too.

Dear Maria

So sorry to hear about the scan results. I know how we brace ourselves to hear the results but any kind of setback really knock us for six.

I guess its time to gather your inner strength and try and plan the next course of action. We are all fighting for you in our thoughts.

Take care

Thank you alison and kt for your words of encouragement......it helps so much to have the support that the people on this board provide.

Hubby was initally ok with the ct results on the first day and focused on the good news of slight reduction of the liver lesions, but then understandbly he became a bit down for a few days which really worried me because he normally such a positive person. He is perking up a bit again which is great.

Thank you again

Been out of town, my heart goes out to you Maria. There are other meds that can deal with the setback, keep the faith. The fact that hubby is good natured and has already come back strong are good signs.
