Hoping someone has some ideas. I'm 34 and from time to time I get a burning sensation in the entrance to my rectum followed by an almost painful need to deficate. However I know that I do not have go, but the ugre is so bad I often find myself trying, which leads to more burning. I notice this occurs when I try to have more than 1 or 2 BMs per day (my usual is 1). Often this leads to some bleeding.
I have been using Witchhazel pads and prep-h which helps some but the urge to deficate does not seem to go away.
Any ideas? I had my last physical in Sept of this year including a rectal exam.
One more thing I've often wondered about...sometime out of nowhere I'll get a horrible shotting pain that feels like a knife being jammed in my rectum for a couple of seconds. It has got to be the worst pain I've felt but after it his it goes away without any other problems.
Thanks to all!

Hey there....Yes, I get that same pain (shooting pain) that lasts a few seconds in that region too... but sometimes it's been in my groin area too for some reason...
I brought this up when I went for my annual physical...and the doctor didnt say anything about it. Not too sure why it's been happening, but I'm thinking about booking an appointment again.

All of these symptoms should not be ignored, especially when blood is seen. A family doctor isn't enoough. Only see a gastroenterologist.
