Hey All, I was diagnosed with IBS-C by a gastro doctor at the beg. of 05. I am still having problem with C and stomach pains. I also notice I am ALWAYS cramping in my lower stomach much like period cramps and have lower back pain 24/7. I started researching Endmetriosis and it seems as if it has some of the same symptoms as IBS. Should I go to my GYNO and get checked for that as well? I have been on Zelnorm and Fiber drinks for about a yr now and nothing so far as worked. I am beg. to think maybe I have something else, not IBS. Any ideas or suggestions??

Yes, I would also be checked for ovarian cancer just to be safe.
Also, just because the fiber and nothing seems to be working doesn't mean you don't have IBS. Millions of IBS sufferers get no relief from fiber or prescription drugs (including me). I have started going the holisitc route and am checking out supplements that are cleansing for the colon or detoxifying. Sometimes your system just needs a good cleansing. Have you tried going a day or two without eating solid foods to give your digestive system a rest? Did it help? Have you read about candida? Acidophilus and yogurt can help.

My doctor actually took me off of all dairy prodcuts, saying that it could be a trigger. I have tried different cleansing things and still have the same problems. I have also went several days w/o solid food but no results were produced. That is why I am beg. to think that there might be something else that the docs are missing. I will make an appt. with my gyno ASAP. Thanks for your advice!!

I have actually considering going to the gyno for the same thing. I have ready alot on the internet regarding endometriosis. My mother in law works at a hospital and brought me some pamphlets & stuff & told me I need to get to the gyno ASAP. I have horrible stomach cramping that feels exactly like menstral cramps, but times 10. And my back aches are horrible. Nothing has worked for me yet either (fiber or med's). I am scared that it may be endometriosis. Good luck to you!
