View Full Version : How do men "maintain" their beard?

So I was wondering, it's the first time I grow a beard and plan on keeping it so I'm kind of new to this whole thing ( >_< ) But anyway, I was wondering what's the best way to maintain a beard at the desired size/lenght, I don't want it too big, i want it really short almost none but still shows ( a millimeter maybe ) and I was thinking that, if it gets too big, I wouldn't want to shave it all off and regrow it again everytime ( even if it only takes about 3 days, maybe 4-5 ) so is there a way of just trimming to keep it to the desired size/length ? The only thing that came to my mind was using the electric shaver and try to just trim it to size, very carefully and be sure to get it all at the same level without shaving completely some spots.... but that sounds non-practical... so I'm writting this thread to hear from you guys =)

I have an electric beard trimmer (like a hair trimmer the barber uses). It works very well.

Ya those electric beard trimmers have an adjustment so you can trim as much or as little off your beard as you want and maintain the same length all around.

I also use a regular barbers electric trimmer. Thp e plastic attatchments help keep the beard at the length you want it to be. It takes some practice to learn technique. Then every 2 weeks I go to the barber and have it shaped up.

I use a beard trimmer, i usually keep it fairly short, (most of the time i keep it as stubble) so i normally trim it about every 3 or 4 days.
