I just got some fillings replaced a few days ago. With each passing day, those teeth have been in more and more constant pain. They are extremely sensitive to air and liquid. They are tooth colored fillings and they feel soft when I run my tongue over them. Putting pressure on them with food is also quite painful. I didn't specifically ask for tooth colored fillings. Would I have been better off with the metallic fillings that he was replacing? He said that they were receding and had decay beneath them. Should he have asked me which type of fillings I wanted before using this soft, tooth colored type of fillings?
Thanks.

I think they all use them fillings these days?? I think I had some sensitivity after fillings-for a couple days..it was 20 yrs ago, and they were metal..I know they were sensitive because of the metal to hot/cold for a little bit. Remember your teeth have just been drilled to DEATH!! But I don't think it should last too long..
If they are replacements, maybe something else is going on??
I had teeth that were decayed under the 20 yr old fillings, and they all had to come out!!
Got them when I was 14, and by 40, they said they had to come out--wonder if they can really fix them??
How old are you-when did you have your first fillings, etc??
I don't even think they ask you anymore what you want-lawsuits-mercury, etc-does anyone even have a choice anymore??
