I went to the doctors awhile back at a walk in clinic to get treatment for some pain. The doctor must have been in an extremely bad mood because he was terrible to me. He was practically yelling at me, and made me feel terrible about myself. He even went so far as to telling me I should not have come to the clinic and even wrote a note to my doctor complaining about me for something. I had never seen the guy before but he totally was out of line and I feel he needs to be talked to from someone. Has anyone ever had a similar situation? I feel I should be able to complain to someone about him for the hamrful way he was being, but im not sure who talk to. any suggestions?

I would first make sure to speak with your own doc first and to totally explain to him hat actually took place and how you were so horribly treated just because you were in pain and needed help(there are indeed laws about docs having to adress appropriately any complant a patient makes about having pain, really)then I would file a complaint with the local chapter of the AMA .
unfortunetly walk in clinics and urgent care clinics are used to seeing patients who are there only to scam some doc for pain meds.they don't have to actually see their own docs and can pretty much make up any new story about this 'pain' they are having.if they only knew that there visit records will be sent to their actual primary doc later on.So all this makes it very tough on those of us who do indeed suffer from some very severe types of pain issues.but I DO agree that the doc you saw was wayyy out of line and you DO need to report him to your states ama chapter.Good luck,FB
