Did you go home the day of the surgery?

What kind of pre-surgery prep did you have to do?

I agree with the others. I'd really appreciate being kept posted on how you do.

I ended up staying over just one after surgey, had abd pain from the lap sites, but the pain med's worked great,as for pre-op I just watched that I didnt eat high fat food's .today I am 4 days out and down 13 lbs..eating just chicken broth/low fat jello/and drinking plenty of water.

feeling much better day by day..just on lowfat jello/pudding/and chicken broth for the next week or so them move onto maybe 1 poached egg....what I have noticed the most is my mouth is bored...no chewing....and w/ my new tummy being the size of a ping-pong ball I will have to make better food choice's in the future...as for weightloss I am down between 10-15 lbs over the last 5 day's.......wore a sweatshirt the other day and my wife was like look at how small your stomach looks already...lost 36 lbs prior to getting banded.......take care for now

Newtim,
Looks like you are doing great! I wish that I was getting banded instead of GB, which is scheduled for March 2nd.... As a last resort, I know that I need to do this. I LOVE to exercise but it is sooo incredibly painful these days, as I have gained a lot of weight. But your positive posts, even if I am not having the same weight loss surgery, is so uplifting and inspirational!

hello jen,
over time there is no differance between the band and gastric by-pass in the amount of extra skin you have w/ weight loss .I am down 51 lbs,and where before was almost impossible due to back pain,no w/ the weightloss..zero back pain,no more pain meds,no more chronic back pain due to the extra weight,no more diabetic meds, none zippo !!!My old trousers were a hugh 48"now I fit into 42"and just the other day I walk 2 miles w/ a back pack ...pain free...best thing I ever did for myself...good luck

That is WONDERFUL!!!! Congrats on that !!!!! :bouncing:
I am really looking forward to it but am now beginning to struggle with saying goodbye to the foods that I love. But then again, I think it would be better to say goodbye to the foods and get healthy than to run the risk of more health issues......

:)
