In October 2005, I had 7 gum line fillings done on my bottom teeth. Every single one of them has come out repeatedly. I have had each one re-done at least 3-4 times, some maybe even up to 5 times.
After some had come out twice, the dentist informed me that a few of her clients were experiencing the same problem with their new fillings not staying in and that she had discarded the container of composite material (assuming it was bad) that she had been working from and would refill my fillings with new composite.
The fillings will not stop coming out. I had some of them redone again 4 days ago and 2 of them came out again this morning. Not only do they come out, but none of them have ever felt smooth and flush with my tooth structure. In fact, I can see a ridges where the filling stops, clearly defining the fillings and making them stand out against the rest of the tooth.
Additionally, each filling started off very small. She has drilled additional retentions each time she has had to refill them, telling me that it will help the filling to bond better.
So anyway, what started off as a small filling has now grown to be a very large filling...all of them are like this now. She informed me the other day that she "thinks" I have a chemical imbalance, causing the fillings to be rejected and wants to crown all 7 of them. I have never had problems with receiving fillings in the past. I still have a few from when I was a teenager and I am now 31. Any advice?
