Ok went thursday and spoke with the hematologist.. They didnt say what stage I was in but that I am between intermediate and fast growing.. THO the CT scan showed no other tumors!!! hurray!! but.. I had a muggar scan on friday and I go for a port to be placed on tuesday and start chemo on thursday.. 4 rounds 3 weeks apart.. ??? good bad??? dont know.. will follow with radiation...i guess... havent talked to radiologist... any input info oppinions anything at all will be appreciated! They say I will defintely loose my hair.. wahhhh its half way to my waist.. and that i should get it cut short now?? any comments ??? I am going thru this with as positive an attitude as I can for my son.. I didnt want to do anything.. but I promised him I would at least one go round!! So far 2006 sucks!!! lol I am trying to keep smiling!

I am sorry you have to go through this. If I were doing this, I would wait to see what effect this has on my hair. If you wake up with too much on your pillow, then cut it. If your hair just thins out, you may be able to hang on to most of it, and just wear different styles. The chemo regimens usually have a lot to do with the stage of the cancer, the expected side effects of the chemo and the age of the patient and over all health. I know of one lady who is having chemo split between Friday and Monday and then resting 3 weeks between rounds. She is so far able to work 4 days per week on the weeks she has Chemo and over time on the weeks she does not so that she has a chance to build her paid time off. It is not a lymphoma but it is a cancer being treated with chemo infusions.
