View Full Version : is it normal to have some blood on ur stool after reversal of Ileostomy

My dad had his chemo and radiation for 6 weeks and then the CT shown he has no more tumor, then he did have the surgery to remove the rectal area about 12 inches... 16 more weeks of chemo later, in Aug of last year, he had his reversal done... now almost 6 months later, he still from time to time having some thin blood on some of his stool (remember he goes to bathroom a lot more than before, average 5 times), we will have another CT this coming Tuesday, my mom is scared, not sure if what we see is normal.. I remember about 3 months ago we asked our dr and he said it is normal, since the connected area is trying to enlarge, so when he goes to bathroom a lot, it will bleed a bit...

Just wondering if others have the same situation.
