Can a yeast infection resemble a herpes outbreak? I recently got a yeast infection and treated it with the pill, Fluconazole. My yeast infection is getting better by the day but i recently noticed some rednes, rash-like patches on the outer lips. Am i just paranoid? Please anything will help.

I am going to go with yes, a yeast infection can cause irritation to your skin but it can also trigger an outbreak. Have you talked to you doctor about your concerns? I think that would be the best route for you to take right now. Better to be safe then sorry....

My first outbreak was what I thought to be a yeast infection. I went to the doctor and she prescribed me the Flagyl, but for some reason, it was not a yeast infection, because a few days later I got the primary o/b of herpes. Apparently, herpes is often mistaken for a yeast infection...but...does not mean that you have herpes. Go back to your doc and check it out to be on the safe side. Take care

i usually have yeast and herpes together...so whenever i have yeast infection, i'll treat the yeast with drugs/creams and at the same time take valtex as "supressive therapy" to make sure there's no hsv o/b

so i think you had better make sure whether you have been infected with hsv...if you had been infected, try suppressive therapy when treating the yeast rather than waiting for an o/b

I thought my primary was a yeast infection it started with discharge so i treated it with monistat. I didnt know what a yeast infection was so after a couple days of having bumps appear I asked my mom and she said that isnt part of a yeast infection. I made an appointment with my gyno we did a swab and ta-daa....but it was itchy, and had discharge so at first thats what we assumed it was...
