I have tried Levsin & Belladonna for my IBS (D). I quit taking it due to the side affects; they were very unpleasant for me. Is there any other ones I can ask my doctor about? Any info is greatly appreciated!!!! :)

I started taking Metamucil daily in the am and it took about a month to get things sorted out. I'm not sure exactly how long I did that for, but I'm pretty much completely cleared. I tried the metamucil pills but found they dont' work as well, but if you haven't tried it before, you'll get used to it...the orange flavor sugar free is the best. Hope this helps! leafsfan9 01-13-2006, 12:13 AM I've tried dicatel, buscopan(some side effcts), and lomatil(basically shuts the #2 off for about 24 hrs.) and cholestyramine(it's an antidiarrheal powder). I don't have the constipation problem, I have the other problem if you know what I mean. Otherwise I just watch my diet, that seems to work best. I have no side effects. Best of life... scarlett_ 04-01-2006, 06:57 PM I have used Spasmasol and Colafac for my Ibs but I only ever use them whenever I have cramps because that's all they seem to relieve for me. Apart from that I don't use anything. However I have found the good old eating healthily approach works. I've recently moved out of home and found cooking for myself and buying food for myself a lot better. I'm eating very very few take aways and I barely buy any dairy... I have a dairy intolerance. shapleybug 04-23-2006, 05:58 PM hellooo Well njoylife I wonder if thats the same thing as i was prescribed, sounds similar to me, im on mebentyl, it was given to me by an on call doc one day when i had a very bad attack, i have taken it ever since, i swear by it. |
