I was wondering if everyone noticed that after the surgery the amount of times that your eyes fluxuated during the day diminished with time, or the eye strengthened so to say. I am almost at 5 weeks now and I obviously have some healing to do. But I notice that I can for example leave the house and my eyes are ok, but after an hour or more out my eyes are really blurry, I'm guessing strained and tired and probably dried from trying to drive and look at things in the store etc., even if I use drops when I am out. Also if I am on the computer for an hour when I stop they are tired and strained and blurry. If I then come home and rest my eyes , or get off the computer, they will slowly return to a better vision............... not perfect yet though. Is this normal? But most importantly does this STOP happening as time goes by, do the eyes get stronger??? I'm really hoping so or I'm in trouble and very disappointed. :( I am improving with time at a slow speed, but the blurry bouts are annoying, and they aren't minor they are pretty dramatic.

Thanks again for everyone's feedback!

i am at about 1 year and almost 1 month after surgery...As a few other of my posts said, I still have problems...went back to my reg eye doc I had before surgery and said my eyes were about 7 of 10 dry (10 worst). Took me off the refresh drops in the green bottles, and had me only use thera tears single use tubes because they have no preservatives...been doing this for almost 2 weeks and seems to help a lot...but thing is if I dont use them...they kind of still act up and the left one goes blurry...but when they are moist and having a good day, they are amazing!

I noticed mostly the less I think about it, the better they feel. The more I dwell, the more I notice things...

goodluck...it will go up/down for awhile I'd guess...but depends the person. My one friend got it done and only used the drops for like the first few days then just put in drops as needed and does fine...

Thanks for the input. I definitely think I have dry eyes, somedays they seem fine and other days they seem worse with the dryness... it's really strange how diff. people have such dramatic experiences..... I thought I would do this to escape the expenses of contacts and glasses, but just buying Drops the past month, could add up after a year!!

I agree! I've spent a ton of money on drops, supplements, and all of this stuff during the past six months. Dry eyes are such a pain!

haha yea, the eyedrops and stuff sucks, but i tell you what, on my good days, sometimes i feel like my eyes are so good that life is fake. if that makes sense? Sometimes I look at things and they are SOOOOOOOO crystal clear and sharp its crazy. Its like every day the clarity is like putting in a new prescription of contacts.

I am anxious for summer and to finally go swimming, or a trip to the beach and no worries. Thing is I trained myself my whole life to close so easily from water because it would dry up my contacts. Even in the shower I freak when water hits my eyes still haha. probably will go away in time i guess...

Yea, only I'm afraid that getting water in my eyes will make them feel bad b/c they're not perfectly healthy. I don't like the idea of having dry spots and stuff on them... it kinda freaks me out. I'm afraid of getting an infection or something.

I get so tired of putting the stupid drops in. I use them every two hours too, plus I use stuff at night.

Cari,
Maybe you could try a nighttime gel or ointment. I don't know if you're already using one. I also sleep with a sleep mask. It helps to keep out the fans and heat and stuff while I'm sleeping. :)
