hi all,

ok i have this problem which is really making me lack in confidence and is also very frustrating so i would really appricaite if anyone could give some help on it;

i have this kind of 'dry skin' on my head, its just in my hair line. ie:just above my forehead where my hair starts. its is not sore but a little itchy and very flakey, i dont think it is dandruff as i have used anti-dandruff shampoos and they have done nothing to help me at all. i was also using a product called POLYTAR, just a medicated shampoo sold at any chemist.that helped a little but unfortunatley can only be used 1-2 times per week so for 3 days my head is ok, the rest it has white flakes scattered through it.

has anyone got any idea what this may be or what i can do to treat it? also if i was to seek help about this problem would it just be a regular doctor that i could go to see or somewhere else??

Thankyou in advance for any replys cos i really need some help on this one!

Aalyisha.

i dont know if you have tried these but i know they have worked for some

apple cider vinger - drinch hair with ACV (be careful of your eyes) leave on for about 15 to 30 minutes, then rinse out, you can still shampoo etc. as usual. but if it does come back then spot treat with the vinger and dont rinse out. you can cut the ACV with water if you have to spot treat, and the smell leaves as soon as it dries.

tea tree oil. mix a few drops in some distilled water, and massage into hair.

use olive oil and drinch hair , wrap hair with towel and let set as long as you can, then rinse , shampoo etc. as usual.

check your shampoo, you may be allergic too it, or some other hair product your using, try something like the nioxin line and see if that helps, if not you might could find one with a syalic acid (sp) in it which is a exfolliant.

take some fresh rosemary and boil in distilled water, pour in spray bottle and use a spritzer for hair and scalp , massage in.

rose water, you can cut with distilled water if needed, and use a spritz like above

good luck

oh i forgot

also joboboa (sp) , emu, and chamoille oils can be dabbed with cotton ball on dry scalp and let on over night while you sleep, if your hair seems to oily the next day to go out, you can shampoo out, i mix a few drops of one or the other in a small spray bottle and spray my hair with it before i style it.

i hope this helps you, i know how much it sucks to have this problem

best part there all natural and not very expensive, check your local health food or vit store for them.

you just have to find what works for you, it may take a few days to see results but i think you will find a cure in at least one of these ideas. i use all them , some in summer , some in winter. just depends on what my head is doing.

Hey, what about using T-Gel? I have heard that it is great..and I have also tried it out...as I sometimes have dandruff....although, it isn't as bad as when I was little...but, the thing that I have had since I was little is Seborreah..or however you spell it....it's a form of Ecxema(sp?) that is what a friend of mine who has the other told me! I have to use cortisone cream behind my ears..sometimes, or it will ooze!

but, try out the t-gel I think that it is sold everywhere...I forgot the brand...but, ask at the Pharmacy, they will know. It's worth it...

This also depends on if you are allergic to certain hair products as well....maybe you should first see a doctor, then see what they say..and you could always get another opinion too!
