i was examined by two surgeons that said i did not have a recurrent hernia above my bellybutton (i had an umbilical hernia fixed two years ago). i had noticed a soft/squishy area above my new bellybutton. when i had a bad cough and was sick, i would get a tugging/pain feeling near the soft spot. both surgeons said it was either scar tissue or sutures from the previous surgery. i can still workout and do normal activities w/out pain.

i am to see a hernia specialist and am thinking what if he says it is a small hernia and wants to operate??? is there anyway to really confirm a hernia diagnosis? just really confused. any help or info. would be greatly appreciated! thanks! :confused:
