How long did it take for you to get pregnant? I've been trying for almost 2 months and nothing yet. With my first pregnancy, I conceived after having unprotected intercourse twice!

thanks.

Well I'm only 21 and my dh and I tried for seven months. This is my first child and I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant. Nothing was wrong with me, I think we just did it at the wrong times. I suggest buying an ovulation kit, it worked for me and two months after using it I was pregnant! Good luck!! I'd try the TTC (trying to conceive board) for more advice!

Are you doing anything to determine ovulation? I was trying since my marriage in May. Then after August I began using OPK's. In September I started doing bbt charting and was pregnant on the third cycle after that. I highly recommend it.

Wow, I must of gotten lucky. With my 2 child, I plained for her so I looked up on when I ovulated and how long the egg and the sperm is good and went from there. My periods was reg and 28 days so I ovulated on the 14th day and the life spand of a few hours. So we had sex on the 13, 14 and 15 day after my first day of my last period and I got pg just from that one try. Thats also been my BC for 7 yrs. Is just knowing when you do ovulate and we just didnt have sex for those 3 days. Your periods just have to be reg for you to get the right date of ovulation. GOOD LUCK and have fun trying.

Who knows why?? I got pregnant with my first child while on the bc pill. I took it faithfully every day within the hour. Then almost 5 years later we decided to try for number 2. Of course I thought I would get pregnant right away, I was 28 when we starting trying. And guess what?? I found out I was pregnant when I was 33 years old and my second child was born when I was 34. Almost 5 years it took us to get pregnant yet I got pregnant on the pill with the first?? Needless to say, neither of my boys were actually planned and they are 10 years apart but they are the light of my life. Two months isn't that long, give it more time. Good luck!!

Hello Calgarygirl:

I was wondering if I could ask you opinions about children with large age gaps. Mine, if I get pregnant soon will have almost 8. I was wondering what it was like as far as pros/cons. Could you share with me?

Thanks!

I got pregnant with my first in one month (age 28), my second in one month (age 31) and then we started trying for our third (age 33). It took me 11 months to get pregnant, which I miscarried last July. Then two months later I got pregnant again, which I miscarried in September. Since then, I have had no luck. So who knows the mysterious workings of reproduction...

We've been ttc for almost 2 years. I've been using OPK for the last 10 months or so, and BBT for 6 months. I'm now on clomid and going in for HSG. I do O, and there is no male factor, it's just doing it at the right time. Sometimes, for me at least, the right time is really short.

With our first child (and only so far) we ttc for 11 months when I was 28. Now I'm 32.

They say if everything goes perfectly (O, timing, no male factor, etc) there is a 20% chance of pg per month. Seems kind of low considering the number of women getting pg. But to me, now, it seems high since we've been ttc for a while.

Good luck to you.

I just turned 34 - we've been trying for about 7 months now. I am on my 3rd month of trying with Clomid and I started using ovulation kits last month to try to narrow down the right time frame.

Best of luck to everyone!
