I am 27 years old and I pray someone can give me some answers. For about 12 days i have had upper middle abdomen pain and lower middle chest pain. I have went to the Doctor's and they did a gallbladder ultrasound on me. I do not have the results yet, but my niece also came home from school with the same symptoms. My doctor said it could be stomach irritation, it's not. I know how that feels. My mom took my grandma to her doctor the other day and he said that there is some virus going around and no body knows what it is. I need some information on this, somedays the chest hurts so bad i feel like i am about to have a heart attack. The pain comes and goes.

Hi, Kristy-
I have had those symptoms before, and it was due to a hiatal hernia. It is also acid reflux. I thought I was having a heart attack. The pain encompassed my whole upper body, even going up into my lower jaw, ear, and back. There was no relief for it once it got to that point. Just time. After the doctors tested my heart, they did an upper GI on me, and that revealed the problem. I now take one Prilosec OTC (over the counter) every day. It has cured the symptoms. I don't know that it will help if you just take it after the onset of the pain, as opposed to taking it on a daily basis. Also, if this has just recently started, you may be able to even cure it this way. God bless you.
