Hi Folks-
I have embarked on a fitness routine with a personal trainer and have been for a few months. They are moderate workouts and I always feel fine during but am very dizzy with a headache after. I drink plenty of water during and after. I've had a heart workup with a cardiologist (stress test and ekg) and he said it's slightly possible a heart defect could cause such symptoms but I have yet to have tests for that.
I do have migraines that present with headache and dizziness or just dizziness and think perhaps these are just exertional migraines / headaches.
I don't want to not exercise but I hate feeling like this afterwards (and the additional fear is that I had brain surgery for an aneurysm last year so all strange headaches are worrisome for me)
Anyone else with this?

Yes, excercies can cause migraines just like housework!
It's the bending "up & down" that causes the migraines.
If you are an excercise fanatic what you are going to have to do is either:
Stop! Do something else like lift weights. It ain't going to kill ya! :D
Cut down your excercising.
Take your meds prior to excercising to prevent the migraine.
Eleminate the "up & down" excercises.
What I did was hire a cleaning service. Topamax took the weight off. Therefore, I have no need to excercie. :D
Good luck.

I get the headaches from all different exercise (spinning, weights, elliptical) and it seems to have more to do with the level of exertion. Though I have a daily headache too.
I'm going to a headache clinic next month with all this b/c though my neurologist has been helpful I want another opinion. Right now I get jaw pain, facial pain, nauseau and it's just so worrying and uncomfortable

Well please let me know what you find out. I went to a step arobics class this morning(first one in years) and I started getting a tight feeling in my head and my ears were stopping up. I felt like I was going to throw up. I have alot of headaches too but I can't help but think they are related in some way. I hope you find relief soon.

Headaches & migraines are 2 different medical conditions. You will find that out at the headache clinic.
You may be suffering from rebound headaches if you are taking over the counter meds to relive the headaches.
I also go to a headache clinic. In my case it was a 3rd opinion. Hopefully, you will find relief. All the Neurologist at these type of clinics specializes in the treatment of migraines & headaches. Some even have research programs. Please keep us posted.
Good Luck

Hey gang. I get some of this: pressure/lightheadedness after exercising, even if just a long, fast walk. It usually lasts a few hours. My doc diagnosed me with a mild anxiety disorder, which has been improved by a low dose of Zoloft, but thinks that these specific symptoms are directly related to what he calls "atypical migraines." I've never had even close to a full-blown migraine, but there is some family history of it. It's been frustrating at times, so please do keep us posted. Cheers!
