hi! i was just wondering if anyone out there can help me figure out if i have a sprained foot or not.

this morning, as i was leaving my house, i stepped about two inches down (from my front door onto the ground below), and my left foot rolled under itself. it didnt hurt too much at that time; it felt more like pressure was building and i could feel it swelling up a bit. as the day went on, however, the pain got worse and now it hurts quite a bit!

i've had a sprained foot before (during the summer, when a golf cart rolled over it...it's a long story lol) but this one feels quite different.

anyway, if anyone could help me out, i would appreciate it!
thank you!!

Rest (stay off it as much as you can), elevate (keep it up, preferably above the level of your heart), ice (15 minutes on, 15 minutes off), and you can wrap it with an ace bandage (start from the toes and go up, and make sure that it's not so tight that your toes turn colors or get cold). If you can move it and walk on it okay it's probably just a sprain and the doctor will tell you the same thing. However, if you are in a lot of pain or it gets very bruised or swollen or if the pain increases or doesn't get better in a week or two, you should see a doctor and get it x-rayed.
