View Full Version : Cold weather and headaches??

Hi everyone,

Well around October/November time I started to get groggy headches, nothing bad as to wanting to lie down. I started taking Headex Extra, as it would "perk" me up, I decided to stop taking them (and any other painkillers) around Dec 22nd. A few days/a week would pass and I've feel okay. I went away to Disneyland Paris for a couple of days at the end of November and spent most of the first evening outside were it was extremely cold. The next morning I woke up with a headache that got worse throughout the day, I was in bed all day, also with vomiting and my head felt hot. Not long ago, I walked outside in the snow for about 40 minutes, went to bed, woke up with a headache, which resulted in me being in bed all day again. My grogginess has recently got better, I think this may have something to do with getting more exercise and having a better rountine. I started a new job on Wednesday, I had to walk back in to the city centre to get a bus, which took about 20 minutes, its was very cold. And again, I ended up waking up with a headache, which again resulted in me being in bed all. So I have had to take my 2nd and 3rd day off work already!

Is this normal? I'm a bit worried. I'm not sure what to do if it is the cold weather. Will going out better wrapped up help?

Thank you for any help/advice. :)

Julie.

No.
Unfortunatly for some of us, weather plays a major part in the comine & goings of our migraines.
Mines are worse in the summer than in the winter. However, because of the mild winter we are having lately, December & now January my migraines have been acting up like it's summertime already.

Barometric pressure has a whole lot to do with our migraines. I can predict the weather better than The Weather Channel & my local TV weather man.
I purchased from my local boat shop this barometric meter called Weather Forecast RF Wall Clock With Romote Thermometer - Oregon Scientific.
It predicts the weather 12 hours in advance. I also know exactly when I will get my migraines.

I highly recommend this thing for all migraine sufferers who can predict the weather. :D

Are you seeing a Neurologist for your migraines? If so, what type of medications are you taking *as needed* for your migraines other than the ones you mentioned?
