Hi everyone,
I've been researching detoxifying supplements and the like. I have read about colon cleansing and all the strange things people say are exiting their body. I have also read that some in the medical community do not believe in its effects.
I was just wondering if anybody had anything good, bad, or indifferent to say about it? I guess what I'm asking is does anybody know if it works.

My thought is only-to clean colon is only for a test for colon cancer. I used a cleansing agent for this purpose the test. detoxifying supplements ? Why??? All you need to do is to change what you eat. The system is first in first out! Foods usually last three days in your system. You eat, the food rots for three days in your stomach and then exits out the anus. If you eat properly nature will adjust as it always does.

I would think it depends on who you talk to. There are advocates of colon cleansing by means of what's referred to as "colonic irrigation, a.k.a. a High tech enema". Its a practice where a machine or a gravity system is used to introduce water into your colon, and unlike an enema, you just remain in place and the waste is discharged into a tube which has been inserted, designed to carry the waste away. The input and output are controlled by a therapist. They also control the temperature and pressure of the introduced water. Now that's somewhat different from an enema which is a simple bag and tubing, after which a tolerable amount of water is introduced, you go to the bathroom and discharge into a commode. There are various size enema bags and relating tubing as well. Everything from a simple drug-store bought $2.00+ Fleet Bagenema to very exclusive and elaborate bags that run into the 100s of dollars. So you'll find advocates of these practices out there who are using either colonics or enemas for detoxing.
Now there are those who agree with letting the body do its own natural cleansing. Some otheres do a colon cleanse via various products taken orally that help with the elimination process.
And what you may have heard about regarding the skeptical outlook by the medical community has been espoused. Many in the medical community don't believe or practice these methods, especially for detoxing. Though remember, for certain pre-op procedures one might well be subjected to a regular tap water enema or enemas or in the case of radiological procedures, be given a barium enema.
But do more research and make your own choices.
