View Full Version : Hard lymph nodes

Well, its kinda hard to tell whether one is hard or not, since it is under your skin. Anything under your skin will feel at least slightly 'soft', due the skin being a cushion of sorts.

Anyway, I have a couple lymph nodes that are relatively hard, kind of like a small rubber pellet under the skin. Most at the groin area, and one under the right side of my jaw. I've heard that these are slightly more suspicious than the squishy ones. However, they are definetely movable; not stuck in one place.

What I really want to know is just why are they kind of hard, but some other ones on my body soft? I personally don't have any symptoms of any other illness or condition, so its just puzzling me as to why they're even there in the first place. Are these 'harder' lymph nodes really that much of a concern?

Don't mess around trying to figure it out. Go to the doc. Let him check it out. I would tell you my story but it would scare you to death, so just go to the doc. Most nodes are nothing to worry about but the only one to listen to is the doctor.

A biopsy will tell for sure. All of my bloodwork came back completely normal. If I hadn't had the biopsy I never would have known. I had no other symptoms at all. I'm glad I had that biopsy back in June.
