I'm applying for my own health insurance bc I recently graduated college and am currently unemployed. I was referred to a dermatologist and had been undergoing treatments for a couple of stubborn plantar warts. Now, since I still have a couple more appts. to get rid of them would my new insurance cover this?

A year ago, I was released from a hospital in CO with a diagnosis of a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lung) but all the tests were inconclusive there and back in my home state, MN, were as well. Also, I did not have two of the major symptoms of a PE, severe leg pain and chest pain. I had a pulmonologist who, in his opinion, doubts I had a PE. I know if accepted my premiums would probably be higher but will they deny me because of this?

Yes, it's possible they will not insure you.
First off, pre-existing conditions are not covered for up to 12 months and most insurance companies will exclude your pre-existing conditions from ever being covered at all.
I'm 30 & was recently deneid insurance from "blue cross blue shield" just because of having anxiety & panic attacks! Completely denied. I figured they would at least just not cover that problem and cover everything else because that was the only medical condition I have but they didn't.
They wouldn't even accept a higher monthly payment, they sent my check back to me and was done with me.
They suck! If you find any insurance companies that will accept you, let me know.... I'd like to be covered in case I ever have a real emergency....
Good luck, :)
T.
