Dawn,
I was surprised when I checked in and saw that you were still visiting...lol I have been on and off this site.I guess I haven't posted because I have learned to live with the pain and it stinks.
So how are you doing? How is the tumor, I hope it disolved itself.
I hope you check in often I would love to hear from you.
Also HI to everyone else here if you read this.Is there any of us oldie but goodies left here?
PS......If any of you are contemplating having foot surgery, make sure you do plenty of research and get plenty of opinions and DO'NT do it unless you really, really need to! Find an EXCELLENT surgeon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Susie,
Hope you remember me! I had surgery on both feet, March 05 and May 05. Austin Bunionectomy and that second toe metatarsal shortening. Had pin removed in one foot in July. Anyway, I still read here, but don't post. I have made an appointment and it is this Friday because I am sick of the pain in my feet! On the first foot, I am walking on the bone of the 2nd Metatarsal and I have a painful click in the underside of the first toe joint which I can actually hear it clicking!! Doctor claims it is scare tissue, but now it is almost a year post op and I should be pain free.
Other foot has a strange protruding lump along the scar, plus other electrical pains.
I can say I truly wish I never had this surgery!! Both feet almost ache when I get up in the morning, but feel more normal after 5-10 minutes. Oh my complaint list goes on and on!! I am NOT a baby, I have had lots of major surgery before and have full recovery. I was lead to believe that by this time I should even remember I had foot surgery - BALONY! I am aware of it everyday.
Saw your post and wanted to say hello. Hope you are doing better than I am!

Hi feetfirst,
OMG, you sound like me.Iam so sick of being in pain. But everyone says it's normal.NORMAL! what is normal? Its been a year for me from the latest surgeries but over two from the very first one.I'm affraid to go back to the dr because of what he might say I need next.
So I changed my job at work because my feet couldn't take the bending and squating.I'm now a cake decorator and have developed carpal tunnel in my right hand.I had to take a cut in pay and also had to sell my house.
Thats why I say DONT DO IT unless you really, really need to!It has changed my life totally......Yes my list goes on and on also.
It's nice to hear from an oldie...LOL
Keep in touch and I hope you make out ok at the doctors.

Susie,
WOW!!!!!! HI!!!!! Yup, I am still here now & then. I don't post much, once in a blue moon...I read the post but keep qiuet most of the time. So you had to sell your house? That stinks! Is the pain any better at all? I am glad I got the fusion but wish I never had to have foot surgery...my foot will NEVER be the same again and I get so tired of it and tired of people asking, oh, hows your foot? I know they are being nice but sometimes I just want to say shut up and just leave me alone! The tumor has disolved BUT now I have constant pain in the entire muscle in the arch in that foot and I have developed a bone spur and Plantar Facsia like in my "good" foot! HA! Shots still work for the good foot every six months, no way are they cutting that one open...they dont help with my left foot though, maybe because of all the surgery I have already had??? I need to have my screws taken out, they bother me alot and I get weird feelings from them hitting nerves but I puttting that off............
So now you have carpel tunnel? Are you my long lost twin? I just had an MRI on my neck, pain so bad most days I cry and cannot figure out why, didnt injure myself at all...but I have had some neck pain for years and of course the headaches...we need a tune up girl! I am looking for work, cant do the renovations anymore.........too hard on the feet and neck. I am glad you had the option to do cakes but too bad about the pay cut. How are the kids??? Write back.........I was so happy to hear from you!!!
Hope you are hanging in there, I know how hard it is to deal with all this everyday, it is sure good to chat to someone else who understands. i tell my hubby I am as good as I am gonna get and he says I am a pesimist ( Spelling on that??) Well.........he needs to have my feet for a day........he would see just how optimistic I truely am, I dont complain much anymore as this is my life now. Sad isnt it that we feel this way??

Dawn and Susie Blue Eyes,
I am still reading the boards, but don't post to often. Had the second ankle surgery in mid May. It was a slow road to recovery. Dawn, I also have PF in both feet now! What a drag. Got orthodics in mid December and they seem to help some, my pain is more in the arch on my right foot. Foot surgery takes A LOT of time to get over. Take care

Nancy,
Had to reply and say hello! Glad you are doing Ok..sorry about the PF, yes , it is a drag! I tried orthotics and after many hundreds of dollors and much aggrivation it was determined they were not going to work for me........but hey, we have to try! I sure hope you are done and have recovered well...and that your ankles are doing well. Good to hear from you!

Hi Everyone---I'm so glad to hear from you guys. I check in occasionally but don't post any longer either. I had surgery #1 1/10/05 and that one is pretty good but #2 4/4/05 is still giving me fits too. I was just released by the doc in January (took that long for the bone to heal). I am still having pain too and lots of scar tissue remains. My incisions are still very red and bumpy.
My daughter got married in September and my son went to college the same month so I am an empty nester doing lots of kitty rescue.
Take care all! Linda
