View Full Version : Healthy New York anyone?`

Hello -

I have insurance with Aetna with the Healthy New York program. I pay for the prescription option and I can't fill anything. Only generic's will be covered and not every drug is generic so I am stuck. And I mean nothing! And the customer service is horrid; I cannot get a straight answer from them as to what I can have as alernatives. And some of the alternatives are not even for my condition. Why would I take a drug for something I don't have?

Does anyone have coverage through Healthy New York with another carrier other than Aetna with prescriptions and are happy with them?

Thanks!

My mom is on ssd and she has the hmo, bc/bc excellus. When she qualified for medicare part d and tried to fill a prescription, bc/bs customer service was horrible. They had no clue what was going on. They denied her bp meds and insulin, even a supervisor threatend to close her acct. if she followed the medicare rep's suggestion to carry the letter to the pharmacy with her.

It took my mom three days to resolve this dilemma. My uncle and his family have healthy ny insurance thru excellus bc/bs, their deductible is so high he can't use it. The deductible is something like $450,.
