I know I shouldn't have done this, but I was feeling very angry and agitated and felt I needed to calm myself down Saturday morning. I took 300 mg 5HTP (I don't take it that often, and usually smaller amounts) and about 30-60 minutes later took my Effexor like I was supposed to. By the time I sat down to brunch, I was feeling tired and dizzy, but I recovered quickly and finished eating. I sat down on the couch to watch TV , but later began to feel dizzy again. I also felt nauseated and my vision blurred.
I was so weak and my legs felt like they wouldn't work, so my father pretty much had to pick me up off the couch and walk me to the bathroom. I threw up at least three or four times. Dad says he saw me lying on the floor of the bathroom, which I don't remember, but I remember slipping out of his grasp and falling on the hallway floor. :dizzy: I felt very hot and sweaty all over and my vision and hearing seemed kind of dim. I went to bed and slept for a couple hours and woke up feeling perfectly ok. I have passed out before due to illness and the visual disturbances seemed similar. What the heck happened? I've heard of serotonin syndrome, is this what happened to me?
