I have had such a rough time in the last few months...My boyfriend and I are actually trying to have a baby...I'm 22 and I know I'm ready for this. We both are. Now, I last started my period on Jan. 6th and it lasted until about the 10th. Yesterday we had sex twice and both times he came inside, which we wanted. Anyway, I'm not good with the whole ovulation thing, like knowing when I'm ovulating. So, is there a possibility that I can be pregnant? Please let me know...I'm hoping to God that I can be..

There is a chance you could be.. but one of the things you need to do first is determine when you are ovualting. Generally. people with a normal 28 day cycle would ovulate around day 14 (counting your first day of your period as day 1). But, some women - like me - have irregular cycles and so it's diffcult to determine ovulation.. you can use ovulation kits, take your temps each morning, watch for fertile signs, etc. But there is no real way to know if you ovulated and had intercourse on the right days unless you get an idea of when you ovulated. There are lots of great books/internet articles that will guide you in the right direction.

Thanks for replying! :) Like I said, though, Im not good at this whole ovulating thing and I did try to look it up on some sites. Now, I got my period in Dec. on the 10th and in January on the 6th... So do I count from the 10th to the 6th? Or from the 11th to the 6th? Or from the 11th to the 5th? Or the 10th to the 5th? Im so confused... I just want to know wether my cycle was 26,27 or 28 days...Thanks!!

You would count from the 10th to the 5th. That's 27 days.

If you got your period on 1/6, then you are currently on cycle day 10.. If you can, buy some ovulation predictor kits. They usually come in a pack of 7. I would start testing once day and also watch for changes in your cervical mucus. Then you'll get a better idea of when ovulation is approaching.

count from the first day of each cycle not the actual date. so if you started on the 6th you are now day 11 hence i would start sex now as you could ovulate between day 11 (today ) and day 16 which will be saturday if you usually go 28 days between the first day of your period and the first day of your next period.
people suggest different things such as sex either everyday or every other day i got pg using both of these methods in the past so i guess you have as good a chance of bfp using either. i hope this makes sense to you count the days not the date! good luck for bfp :)

Thanks for your replies!!! They really help... Also, if I am on my the first day that I should start trying, like you said ,WeepyOne, then there is a possibility that sperm from yesterday could still be "active"? Im so clueless with this and we want to make sure that we take every chance we can get, to conceive. Thanks!!

yes the sperm from yesterday could still be active. the first time i was pg dh was away from day 12 and i got pg from sex obviously just as he went away. the second time i got pg (this time) we bd every single day till i was sore tmi. so yes lots of sex will improve your chances :) good luck ttc

I am now 8 weeks pregnant. My first day of my last period was November 24th. When I went to my doctors appt for the first time he said that he guesses I conceived between the 8th and 10th of December. With a 30 day cycle, meaning my period comes on every month on the 24th. Hope this helps...
