I had my second outbreak about 3 weeks after my initial one... The only way I knew that I had an outbreak was because my lymph nodes were swollen for about a week and that happened the 1st time. When I looked, I had two red marks located in the same spots where my initial two sores were, BUT there was no pain at all - not even burning when I peed. Has this happened to anyone before?? I have HSV1, so is this a sign that maybe I don't have such a bad case?

Did you just get these sores that don't hurt? They may change before the outbreak is over. Usually, the first OB is worse and they gradually become less severe...I've read this on almost every website about herpes...I'm sure hoping I'm in the majority. Also, they say that if you have hsv1 genitally, it's not it's favorite place to be so it doesn't get so bad as that part of the body doesn't favor hsv 1...that's what they say anyway. I know from reading "real people's" accounts of their OBs that this isn't always true.

Thanks, Keepsgoin. These "sores" - I don't even feel like I should be calling them that since they don't hurt at all! They're just these two red dots located in the same exact place as my primary outbreak. Anyway, they're almost gone now. My lymph nodes were swollen for one week (Sat - Sat), and these red dots are fading now as well.

This is where I get confused....how do I know it is not just an ingrown or a shave rash. Sometimes I get tiny definate blisters which are sore, burning and I know it is my herpes, then other times I get a few red dots or what appears to be a shave rash. My friend who does not have herpes says she gets the shave rash all the time, but I am afraid that it may be herpes and I go nuts trying to figure out if it is or isnt.

I think that you know that it's just a shave rash...if you scratch it and it does really nothing, it's nothing but from shaving but if you scratch it and it gets bad and turns into a sore or ugly rash then it's herpes. I know what you mean though because I'm paranoid about every little red dot I see just waiting for it to blow up into a herpes sore or rash any day! Herpes sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and I forgot to say something....as far as the sores not hurting...my BF, whom I got herpes from, his sores don't hurt either. He just gets this little small dots of a cluster of sores that just kind of looks like in irritation but if you look at it with a magnifying glass, you can see tiny dots of raise bumps in a cluster. They are alway in the same couple of places. They just pop up as a red spot and they last about a week, they don't open up or ooze...they are just there then they are gone.
