If an individual is vaccinated with the Hepatitis vaccine(s) will it prevent them from acquiring Hepatitis if they sleep with someone with Acute Hepatitis B they've had 1 year?

I would assume that if you had the hep B vaccine you are good to go. I got both A&B vaccines when it was discovered I have hep.C. After all, isn't that the purpose of the vaccine?

Hi Frickin,
Am asking for a Friend with Hepatitis B..she has had it 1 year..she will be marrying in the Summer and wants to make certain it isn't passed onto her Fiance/Husband..we wasn't sure if he would acquire if he were to get vaccinated. She wants to make absolute certain that doesn't happen..

Thank you!

If the fiance hasn't gotten vaccinated yet, he should start. If I recall it takes a number of shots to get the job done. If in doubt call the Dr. That's what they get paid outrageous amounts for. :o)

I just saw that it takes 3 shots & it's good for 15 years.
