ok, this isn't going to be veery pretty. My head hurts too much to spell correctly so just bare with me please.

Woke up sunday morning with a headache. It starts from my brow and ends at the back of my head. It burns it pulses. Im dizzy, nauseated, I've thrown up three times. shivers, no feaver, yet I froze last night with four comforters on me. It pulses with my heart beat sometimes, it just hurts other, or If I sit still long enough it will slowly just fade but I can still feel it nd when I move its back there waiting.

Last night it got really bad woke up with it pulsing to my heart beat. Cried and got up to take exedren it barely takes the edge off.

I've never had a head ache that lasted this long, or had one on the very top of my head. I cant eat, cant sleep most likely cant work. What the heck is going on. could someone please help.
Im considering throwing the towel in and having my friends take me to the hospital It feels like a pulsing mound of pressure right under my skull.

Sorry about the bad grammer. Im in too much pain to really care. Ok going on four days now I guess noone has any helpfull info... going to hospital now.

Hopefully someone can help.

It very well could be a migraine. Did you go to the hospital? If so, what was the diagnosis? Best of luck to you. :)

Ok, Its been exactly two weeks.
Now the head ache only occurs when im standing up or reading anything! physicaly I am better yet every time I get up to walk around I get pressure in my forhead. Behind my brow. As soon as I lay down not sit, I have to lay down it immediatley goes away. I've been fighting the pain to get this down on the computer.

Im going to the doctors tomarrow to demand something besides the migrane med's he gave me cause those didn't do anything this headache isn't normal it shouldn't just disapear when I lay down. There is something wrong with my friggan head... I can't keep this up I gotta lay down, hopefully somebody can help me.
I can't work or live like this.
I've already missed two weeks this can't go on for much longer.
thanxs

VIRAL MENINGITIS...yikes.....shouldn't they have kept you in hospital???

My guy friend of mine had meningitis due to an infection in one of his wisdom teeth before he got it pulled.

His head and the side of his face was really swollen (he looked like an elephant man it was that bad) and he was in extreme pain, and just wanted to shoot himself the pain was that bad.

He was taken to hospital and when the triage nurse spotted him he was through straight away and seen, wheeled in an given IV antibiotics. Next day he was discharged completely fine.

He keeps good care of his teeth now!.

While were on the subject of headaches I had a really bad migraine once that was that bad I thought of going outside and banging my head against a brick wall just to stop the pain. I was crying non-stop all day it was that bad and eventually took 4 panadol forte hoping that would work...it didn't, I eventually passed out at 4 am in the morning just physically/mentally exhausted.

Next day I woke up with a normal headache only and took 3 ADVIL, that worked got rid of it completely. Now whenever I get headaches, sinus or dental pain I take ADVIL or Nurofen BEFORE it gets really bad and it seems to knock it on the head.

Also keep your fluids up even if you feel nauseous...water helps keep your temp down and keeps you hydrated (make sure its very cold water with ice if you prefer), keep lying down in a darkened room with your feet bent (keeps your heart rate down as your blood has to push uphill which keeps the pulses in your head to a minimum) with a cold/ pre cooled flannel/washer on your head.

If you have a partner I suggest he/she massage your head and the base of your neck to relieve the tension and release some fluid build up and help you feel a little better.

If it is meningitis you have I suggest you see your family doc and get antibiotics to help treat it. Meningitis is a infection of the brain and can be serious, even fatal if left untreated.

hope the above helps and keep us all posted. :)

Hope you start feeling better soon. :bouncing:
