Hi.

I always thought I understood how my body worked until NOW that I'm ttc. I feel like I need to go to one of those "learn about your body" classes that you take when you are 12! Anyway, my question is...is it possible to ovulate one week before you get your period? I am due to get my period approx. the 25th, but feel a tad crampy yesterday and today. I'm just not sure if it's ovulation. I wasn't sure if it was physically possible to ovulate 7 to 10 days before you were due to get it.

Thanks!

It could be a number of things, including a gas bubble. I don't know about ovulation 7-10 days before your period, but maybe you ARE ovulating and your period is going to be later this month and will not start on the day you planned?

Yes, it is possible to ovulate only seven days beore your period. However, if there is only seven days between ovulation and your period, you may have a luteal phase defect. Your luteal phase (between O and your period) should be atleast 10 days long...some doctors prefer atleast 12 days. I would suggest that you chart your temps, this will give you a better idea about when ovulation occurs.

I agree with Lauie5013. My LP was only 9-11 days before I started on Clomid. (Now it's around 13 days) Plus I was O on CD19-21. Charting your BBT will give info about your body that you may have thought differenly before. i.e. knowing when you ovulate.

Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for the info. I'll know next week whether this worked or not, and if not, I'll ask my dr. for some direction regarding the luteal phase.

Thanks!
