I have a really silly reason for wanting to test early, but I hope you understand! My DH wants me to accompany him on a business trip in a few weeks and I really want to go as he's going to be gone during prime OV dates! The problem is, I hate flying and I definitely need a few cocktails to fly home by myself (if I'm preg now, I would hate to fly by myself). Plus, I think the trip would be more fun if we could bar hop, seeing as its winter and there isn't much else to do.
Point is... I am due to get AF on the 21st or 22nd, and I'm wondering if its way too early to test. I need to make a decision on this trip today or tomorrow (for flights) and it kind of depends on if I'm preg or not! I feel completely the same unfortunately and don't have any symptoms, I'm just wondering when the earliest day possible is to test with a reliable result (maybe try the early tests or something)?
Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!

You can try one of the highly sensitive HPT's that say you can test up to four days before your period starts, but that would only be about 60% accurate. When I had a chemical pregnancy, it was positive five days before I expected Aunt Flo, but each woman is different. I would go. No need to put things on hold, hoping you are pregnant. I'm about to book a cruise for May. I hope I am pregnant by then and if I am, I won't be indulging in any liquor, but I'm not going to put my life (and my husband's) on hold hoping for a pregnancy. I'll go and enjoy myself sipping on ginger ale! Also, if you aren't pregnant you don't want to miss your chance next cycle since your husband will be away around your O date. I think I would be leaning more towards going so that we don't miss my next O then not going because I might be pregnant.

That's a really good way of putting it :) Thank you for taking the time to post, and I think you are right... life is too short to put it on hold for something that is uncertain!
