OK the web is a very dangerous thing ..... I posted a few days ago about a small lump I found above my collarbone.
As I am sitting here BORED I started goggling this and I am making myself so sick to my stomach. I am driving myself crazy. I came across a website that said ALL lump near the collarbone are more than likely cancer.
So here I sit I called my Dr. and I have an appointment Monday morning ...Whewww!!
I am sure he will wanna do some blood work and whatever else to determine what's going on. This lump has NOT gotten any bigger that's the only plus I can see at this time ....

Sure, it could be cancer... But it could also just be a viral or bacterial infection. Try not to worry until you have an actual reason to. I know it's scary. Just try to do other things and keep your mind off of it for now, until your appointment. And stop looking at those scary websites! :-)

I'm paranoid about the same thing. I even went to the doctor and got so far as to get an appointment with an ENT to have a scope put down my throat. 3 months later I still haven't seen him because I'm just too paranoind. My hip is so sore than I can't bend over to touch my toe and the right side of my neck feels terrible. I get clicking in my throat when I swallow. I also developed some kind of fluid filled cyst on the painful side of my hip (I think it might be sebacous cyst since it's filled with fluid and I can move it around and stuff)
Oh I also sleep sometimes for 14 hours. I have more reasons than not to be paranoid I might be dying but I'm too paranoind to get the specific tests I need to determine whether or not whatever is wrong with me is serious, if that makes any sense.

By searching things on the net I've found I had a brain tumor, stomach cancer, colon cancer, MS, bone cancer, skin cancer, pancreatic cancer, eye tumor, esophageal cancer, ovarian cancer, endometriosis, fibromyalgia.... in truth I've had NOTHING! Sure, go see a doctor, always better safe, but my point is you are driving yourself nuts, I speak from experience. So just relax, keep that appointment (you always should be safe, but don't be all worried about it., because odds that it is something bad is really low.) - there are lymph glands near the collar bone, and ANY infection can cause one to swell up - if you have a simple COLD you could get some lumps. I was told even ALLERGIES could cause swelling of lymph nodes! And sure, cancer causes lymph nodes to swell too. But my mom likes to say, "When you hear hoofbeats, think HORSES, not zebras!" meaning it's a LOT more likely it's something benign.

Thanks all for you reassuring words....
I think sometimes we all need to just hear them.
I am hoping that it's nothing and I am sure it is. My hubby told me he is going to put a block on my web and not let me go to medical sites ..lmao!!!
I saw a commercial and it said 3 symptoms could be over 2,000 different things ...WOW!! Makes you think.
Again thanks for all the kind words

aawe you poor thing!!
the sma ethng happens to me, i started getting a thin white coat on my tounge, and i looked on the web, and like a mllion "aids" pages came up! i was so scared, untill i found out it was just a mouth-herpes outbreak, completly harmless, and easy to get rid of.
that made me think, "dont trust the web, just see your docter."

Don't worry about things you cannot control and things you do not know to be true yet. Most likely it is not cancer! I found a lump above my collar bone randomly one day and went to the doctor. They sent me to the emergency room because the doctor on hand didn't know what it could be and was worried. After many tests and days of waiting, it turned out to be a cyst on my thyroid gland, they just drained it and I was good to go.

Don't worry too much about it. It is probably nothing. I have found plenty of lumps on my body and so far haven't been diagnosed with cancer. (that doesn't stop me from thinking that eventually they'll discover i have some brain tumor or something!) ;)
Anyway, I had a lump on the side of my leg near my knee. It would hurt the tendons and/or muscles and freaked me out so much. Eventually I went to the doctor and my mom told her about the lump. The doctor felt it, said it was probably nothing, but sent me to a radiologist / x-ray place just to be sure. They x-rayed my knee and the specialist looked at it and told me it was just a "bone spur" and that it was absolutely nothing to worry about unless as I grew it caused more problems.
Then there was another time when I found a lump on my foot and it ended up being a cyst which has, by now, disappeared.
Same with one on my jaw which ended up being a lymph node.
But yeah, the internet can be dangerous in that pretty much any symptom you look up is going to have occurred once in some cancer and thereby be associated as some sign of it.

 My husband had a lump and had it removed and it was just a cyst. Try not to worry because the mind is a POWERFUL thing! You can certainly talk yourself into illness. Don't do that! The internet can be a helpful tool but it can also be misleading. Stay on reputable sites and don't worry because for one thing going wrong in your body, it can be SOOOO many things! Don't think the worst! Keep us posted on what the doc says!
