recently i have been noticing many possible signs of leukemia. i have rather large bruises on my legs that have not been caused by injury. i have tiny purple marks and red dots on my inner thigh that have been there for a few years. today my whole body hurts. i hurts to walk and get up from a chair and i havent done any hard labor. i had a previous incident where i couldnt even walk. both legs were in so much pain i had to go to the hospital and they told me nothing was wrong after doing an x ray. it went away but i never knew what caused it. i was wondering if this should be a concern because i have been feeling sick on and off for 4 years with nausea and just feeling sick...i dont know if leukemia would develop that slowly. please anyone if you have any more information or advice, it is greatly appreciated! thanks.

I would suggest that you go to your doctor for a complete physical to address your feeling ill. While some of your symptoms point to leukemia, they also are an indication of some others, being minor. However, I will answer your questions. When the onset of leukemia occurs, there is most commonly a drop in platelets causing excessive bruising and peteccia. The peteccia you describe as "being there for years" would not be caused by this, an increase in peteccia may.

There is chronic and acute leukemias. Chronic is a slow progressing form and may be present for an extending period of time. Acute is fast moving and the onset of symptoms is quick. Chronic leukemias can lead into the acute phase.

The best way to put your mind at rest, is to go to your physician, and have a Complete Blood Count performed. You may just be anemic.
