I stumbled on this quite by accident, and it sounds very interesting as well as promising. I've spoken to quite a few people who swear by it. I was wondering if any of you have considered or tried it- and if so, if it works. Some research studies show that auto-immune disorders are caused by infections, mainly mycoplasma and chlamydia. Some doctors order long term antibiotic therapy (some are clindamycin and minocycline). By long term, I mean up to a couple of years. Those who started the treatment early in their disease have said they were cured, others that started later have a disappearance of syptoms, as well as joint damage. I found two web sites, 7 research studies, and have talked to people who swear by it. Any thoughts?

My husband has been on minocin (minocyclin) for his RA for years and it works for wonders for him. He got jeuvenile RA when he was 21 and was initially treated with myochrisin (injectible gold) which worked until he developed an allergic reaction. He was then switched to methotrexate which made him too sick to continue with. He then persuaded his rheumatologist to put him on low dose antibiotics. Ever since, he's been almost pain free!! We know this because whenever his prescription runs out and he goes off the pills for a few days, the pain returns. As soon as he starts the pills again, the pain goes away. Oh, he still has bad days here and there where he wakes up a little stiff and sore, but no where near the pain he was suffereing before the minocin.
