Why does dialysis cause diarrhea? My Dad follows a renal diet, takes meds, labs are normal. It is destorying his life. 10 Antidiarrheal tabs do not help. He is negative for any bacteria. Please Please help. He is ready to stop treatment. It just comes without warning.

I have been trying to find the answer to this since my husband started dialysis over a year ago.Nobody seems to know.He too has had all the tests.My husband is a double amputee and he doesn't know when he is going so he has suffered a double wammy,at 53 years old he has to wear a diaper.He has talked many times about quitting treatment.He is very depressed all the time.I hope that someone gives you some answers,I could use the help too.Good luck.
