I got a little scratch from my screen door about 10 hours ago. I'm a couple years over due for my tetanus booster. How late is too late to get a booster after getting cut? How easy is it to get tetanus?
Thanks, I'm kinda freaking out about this.

Go get that tetanus now and you should be fine.i don't know alot about actual tetanus but i know anything like lockjaw or other symptoms of any problems would take more like at least a few days to actually set in.just call your docs office and they should be able to get you in for any lab stuff, like a tetanus booster the same day.I do know that whatever scratches you has to be rusty and rather deep not just a surface scratch.Or any type of a puncture wound, you definitely need to make sure that your booster has been updated.the biggest problem that I have run into with regards to when you should get the actual booster done is that every medical person I have asked as far as years between boosters, they have given me from anywhere from like five to ten years??i would go with like seven.i am pretty sure if you did just a bit of research on tetanus, you would be able to get all of the actual info you would need.there is a ton of info on the net on just about anything and everything imaginable.Just get the booster and I am sure you will be fine.FB

if your a teenager, in most states they require a shot with a funny abreviation before entering certain grades, i cut msyelf on a rusty nail, and freaked out, then found out one of the letters in that abreviaton stood for "tetanus" so you may not be overdue afterall.. though im not sure this post is helpful or not. :)
