Hi- My husband and I just started TTC and for the past two months AF has arrived about 3 days later than normal and has been extremely light. More of brown spotting for the week. A few days were a little heavier, but not as heavy as normal. I went off BC about six months ago and the first 4 months AF came like clockwork and was perfectly normal. Can anyone tell me why the past two months have been so light?

Gosh I wish I knew as I'm having the same problem. Went off BC about 8 months ago and have been TTC for 6 months. I've been having extremely short AF and want to make sure its not implantation bleeding or anything like that. The past few AF's only lasted a day or two :( Maybe our bodies are just getting used to being off the pill?

Yes! That's exactly what I thought too. I thought maybe implantation bleeding, but got BFN every time I tested. Mine are usually about a full week but still really light? I haven't asked my dr. yet, but go there in a couple weeks. Do you use OPK's or track your "O" with anything? Last month my OPK said I O'ed but this month I'm on day 18 with no O yet? Have you checked with your dr. yet? Thanks for replying and best wishes to you!

No I haven't done any OPK's yet although I hope to next month since my current strategy doesn't seem to be working. I was stressing over the holidays cuz I would have a light period, but have a BFN and still think that there was a chance that I might be!

I talked to my dr about 4 months ago and she said it was my body getting used to going off the pill but I am concerned now that I'm 8 months without BC. :( Good luck, please let me know what your dr says if you have a moment- I appreciate it!

From what I've read and what I experienced, when I went off my BC, the first 3 or 4 months were very normal and on time....for A/F. Then after that it was a little off here andthere and not heavy, wouldn't last as long, ect. It can take anywhere from 6 months to a 1yr for your body to adjust to being off the pill. Remember it takes time for the pill to get into your system and its going to take time for it to get outta your system. Give it time.

My husband and I were TTC for just under a year...I had one late night of light red bleeding (which turns out it was implantation bleeding) and now I'm pregnant! Be paitent, it will happen! :)

My doctor told me that it DOESN'T take time for your body (regarding conception, anyway) to adjust to being off BC...

Remember the instructions on the pill package that tell you to use another form of BC if you miss 2 days? He said that's because your body is very in-tune to the amount of hormones it needs to release that egg. The only reason he said to wait before TTC would be to better pinpoint fertile days and my ultimate due date. Otherwise, he said, "Stop taking the pill and then start having sex." ;)
