Please tell me if this sounds like it could be OCD:

-Must check door locks ONCE before bed, even if another family member says they locked doors
-Fear of leaving iron or gas stove on-have turned around on way to work to come back and check if couldn't visually REMEMBER turning off. Again, only do this ONCE
-Set alarm clock then check it ONCE to make sure it's really set
-Must sleep with phone beside bed in case of emergency; must make sure phone has dial tone before falling asleep
-Sometimes unplug electronic appliances to avoid fire
-Tend to worry about health & general high awareness of own body-new aches, pains, etc.
-Worry excessively about family member's safety & health
-As child had counting rountines and spinning rountines (if spun in one direction, had to "untwist" be spinning in other direction) but can that be normal for children?

None of these habits are interfering with daily life, but would like to know thoughts of those with OCD-does this sound like anything to worry about?

If you HAVE to check the lock before bed even someone tells you its locked....I'd say thats OCD. I know your probably thinking its just safety and such, but you have to find the line between being cautious, and being unreasonably cautious. Once it starts to become habitual, you're going to depend more and more on your compulsions. I know you said its not interfering with your life, but if it causes you to turn around on your way to work, I'd say it may be starting to.

Best advice I can give is tell someone about it. The longer you hide it the worse it can/will get.

Good Luck

It's OCD but however, I or anyone else, can't tell you it's OCD until a doctor has told you himself. But it sounds like OCD to me because I'm having some of the same problems and I'm on medication for that right now and seem to be doing fine.
