I also take effexor xr. I take 75mg plus an extra 37.5 every other day. I was also taking Luvox. I have found, that with me, the effexor is twice as good as the other. I only thing that I dont like is the withdrawl symptoms I have. If I miss one dose, I am already feeling like crap by the time another dose is due. (24 hours) I would recommend it.

I used to take Effexor for my OCD/Depression. I only stopped taking it because of the side effects, but other than that it worked quite well.

I've been on effexor for a good few years - I'm on 225 mg now - do you have side effects, primarily night sweating - not to be graphic, but I continually (lately) have sweatiness "down there", and it's annoying!!!

I talked to my doctor about it this past summer, and she knew right away it was from the effexor, but did a blood test for my peace of mind - (which came back normal)

just curious how long you've been on it and if you or anyone you know on it has this side effect!

thanks!

Effexor is NOT commonly used for OCD and is better suited for depression. People only use this drug when the others which were meant for OCD have failed them!

the only reason why i can see a doctor perscribing effexor for ocd is when the SSRI fail because they are MUCH more meant for it then effexor~!

I am considering taking effexor. What has changed for you taking effexor?
