I have been sexually active, but that was almost two months ago and I am not sexually active anymore. Well I made the mistake of drinking far too much and having unprotected sex 2 months ago and about a month later I was itchy around my vagina and it was red. I went to the doctors and had tests done. Everything came back negative and I don't have a sexually transmitted disease. They gave me thrush treatment because that's what the doctor thought it was. I used it for 6 days (as instructed) and it practically cleared up. Then I got my period for 6 days, I don't think I noticed any irritation down there, but it has been slightly itchy, but not as much as the last 6 days. Okay so I looked down there and it is quite red, I think whatever I had has come back, so I put some thrush treatment on the skin down there. I'm afraid it's not thrush. I'm thinking about going back to the doctor to ask for the test results again. I'm just really afraid, I get so anxious and scared that I vomit and feel sick in my stomach. What I'm asking is if it is something other than thrush, if so what could it be? And does a swab from inside your vagina tell you if you have any sexually transmitted disease? I need help. Please help.

It could be a number of things but you will have to go to the doctor to get it properly diagnosed.
Vaginitis, yeast infection, herpes.

Doesn't sound like herpes, but a visit to the doctor again will help to put your fears to rest.
