I am 25 years old and I have one breast bigger than the other. It's my left breast and my doctor told me it's normal and I don't need to worry. Theres no history of breast cancer in my family but is this normal?? I check my breasts each month (to be safe) and I have been told it never happens to girls my age, yet I've read and heard stories that it can happen. Should I worry or just understand this is normal??

Asymmetry is perfectly normal, breast cancer is rare in younger women, but certainly not unheard of. Keep on checking each month, it's a great way to prevent trouble.

Thanks for your post. My doctor has told me the same thing that cancer in young woman is rare but I still need to check each month and I do. My Mother once had a cyst on her breast when she was 29 but it was non cancer so I guess I do worry about that.

I think it's always been a bit bigger, yet I am scared. I've checked my breasts myself and found nothing to show any signs of cancer. I've been given a blood test at my local doctors coz I've been sick for some while but I don't know what to do until I get the results back on Friday.

My blood tests came back normal, so I'm guessing thats a good sign. I am sure one has always been a little bigger and I can't feel any lumps or any other signs of breast cancer. I will leave it for a few days and maybe see the doctor again but I try not to worry myself too much anymore.

I was wondering can I call an Breast clinic here in Cardiff or do I need my doctor to do that for me for help? My doctor/well woman clinic have told me it's normal but I would like some other help, but I'm not sure if I can do that. Does anyone know if theres a good breast clinic here in Cardiff and if I can call up myself for help off them??
