I am sorry, but I just don't believe the hype... Here is what I'm talking about...
Reading this boards and others one would be led to beleive that there are like maybe 8 good Rhinoplasty Dr.'s in the entire nation (USA)!!! OK, like Dr. Nassif in SoCal, The Dr. guy in Dallas, Omaha Dr. Person, etc. etc... WHATEVER.
I know plenty of people who have had nose jobs (including some people in my family) from just "normal" plastic surgeons who don't have all of these fancy websites, etc...
A FANCY WEBSITE DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE A GOOD SURGEON!!!
I know rhinoplasty is difficult but a LOT of them turn out right... Yes, there are some people that need revisions... but I think you get the wrong impression about it from reading these boards!!!! Let's be realistic... Go in there... Do a consult with a Dr. that you don't have to FLY to and if you like the Dr. then freaking do it and it's done!
Game over.

You are totally right about hype, there are really bad PS's out there that require hype to do bussiness. My son just had his nose done by a local PS and it looks allot like the nose someone else metioned; swollen on one side and crooked. The guy wouldnt admit of course that it was now crooked but he performed a second surgery to try and straighten it and of course he didnt. Its still crooked and to add insult to injury he never paid the anesthesist from the first surgery which was included in his quote. I think some of these surgeons deserve their good reputation Constantian in NH is one.Go with a surgeon recognized by his peers as being exceptional rather then by someone on one of these sites that got lucky and had a good result and now thinks the surgeon is top notch. I may be getting a little long winded but I dont think certifications mean a whole hell of allot either. The hacks that ruined both mine and my sons nose had bard certifications. Im not quite sure how they get the certifications. They must perform a successfull procedure on a cadaver. Hey , cadavers dont swell and dont complain much about a shody result.

I can,t believe I finally found others that are and have experianced the frustration I have at the hands of these so called Plastic Surgeons, It has changed my life forever, My Plastic Surgeon seemed to find delight in the pain and agony I experianced after, I do believe mine was nothing more than a Sadistic Fake!
I sure would enjoy hearing from others that are having a difficult time living with the results of a botched Nose job
Mine has sent me into very deep depressions, and suicidal thoughts
Please reply, this might help me, I hope so!

Hi, I had a Rhinoplasty about 28 years ago. I did no research, I was young and stupid. I went to a Dr that a friend had gone to for Breast implants and a tummy tuck. She was happy so I went to him. Luckily it turned out alright althrough not perfect. Not too long ago I came across the original appt card for my surgery and to my surprise my Dr. wasn't even a Plastic Surgeon, he was a dentist. My point is that maybe a fancy website doesn't insure a good surgeon but it can be a start for further investigation of that dr. Check the lawsuits that the Doctor has against him/her. It's public record.
I've never used this Doctor, but I've heard great things about Dr. Davis. He suppose to be good at revisions. I believe he is Florida.

These types of conversations scare the bee-jesus out of me. I went to three different doctors for consultations. All three of them were listed in the Washingtonian (local very respected magazine) as top plastic surgeons as rated by their peers. But I am still very nervous about the one I booked. I looked through dozens of before and after pics in his office and he made me really comfortable. But how do you REALLY know he is good? I really tried to find someone in the area who had gone to him through message boards and couldnt even find someone who could personally recommend someone in the area.
Is that enough research? How do i KNOW he is a good rhinoplasty doctor?
I am scheduled for May and can still cancel within three weeks, but going on more consultations just confused me. All the doctors said they specialized in noses and they did them all the time.
It is scary when you hear these stories of botched jobs.
