Hi yall, my feet are killing me this few days. Actually, it always has been. I've been to many doctors, specialist, podiatrist, physio, but I still have problems with my feet. The pain started at the bunion area of my right foot when I was young. Got this toe brace but I stopped wearing it after a while as it only made the pain worse in the morning.
But many years later, my feet problem seems to be getting worse. Now both of my feet are in agony. It's painful every single day! The only difference is the difference degrees in pain I feel. Sometimes it would be so painful that I feel really lousy. Lots of the medical ppl I saw said that it is most probably my hypermobile/flexible feet and said that they can't do anything much. Guess they don't really take my pain and problem seriously as it ain't a life-threatening thing or what.
From a small area of pain at the bunion area, it has spread to nearly the whole feet. I have seem my aunts' feet, some of them have worse bunions then me but they don't seem to be in so much agony as me. I still have a long way to go...
Anyone out there that has similar experience? How ya getting help for your feet problem(s)?

Hi Cheer :) If your feet are causing you so much pain and have been for a very long time, maybe you should consider having bunion surgery .I'll leave it to the " bunion experts" to tel l you about what might be involved but please do consider it Get a second opinion to It is always a good idea. Don't know where you are but if you are in a city with a major pro sports team (football or basketball preferably), call them and ask who they use for feet issues.
If not in a city that has this, try the nearest major university with a large athletic department. Hope this helps.

I think that they pain starts from when you feet roll in. Do you put more pressure on the first met when you walk. (The first long bone by your big toe?)

I think I would be seeking yet another opinion - from a good podiatrist. Of course we don't know exactly what is going on with your feet, except for bunions and hyper-mobility - but both of those issues *can* usually be dealt with surgically (hypermobility of 1st metatarsal was one of the reasons I had my recent surgery - part of which was a mid-foot fusion, which has definitely solved that problem!)
Do you live anywhere near a fairly large city, where there might be a teaching hospital? You may find a podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon who specializes in feet, if you can get to a larger hospital/clinic. Don't give up - there is no reason you should have to just suffer - *some*one, *some*where should be able to help you.
Please keep us posted, and maybe we can be of more help.

Hi
I've been to so many doctors, one of the orthopedic surgeon said that I was too young to have surgery. After thinking about it, I guess he meant that what is done can't be undone and since I was only 19 then. I have worn many types of orthotics... had to have them modified again since I still get pain. I went for chiropratic treatment but didn't help either. One of the podiatrist that I saw once even told me to go to a osteopath and said that they treat differently from a chiropractor. Anyone been to a osteopath?
I can't afford 'good'(senior consultants or prof) doctors long term so my case is usually assigned to juniors or registrars. Unless I'm a life-threatening case but how can feet problem be life-threatening!? Some have really bad bedside manners, some are okay. So all this 'travelling' from one doctor to another is making me even tired of looking for another. I'm just hoping I won't get worse.
My right feet usually rolls outward, but since I have this bone(the joint under the big toe) that's protruding out(due to hyperlaxity, the part has kinda dropped down), big toe area gets pressure too. I have high arch too.
Another thing is, my problem doesn't lie only with the bunion thing. What if I go for surgery and I still get the pain. So I'm still not sure about the surgery unless there's a surgeon that really knows my case.
Anyway, thanks to those that replied!
