P.S.
I just recently found a psychologist and this is what I was diagnosed with , nobody ever told me that I had an adjustment disorder before. But it sounds like it would make sense, accept I am not exactly sure what it means , does anybody have any experience with this?

tweety,
I was told this was part of my problem 6 years ago when I first went to college. If you aren't accepting or adjusting to new situations (job change, death in family, moving, new family member, etc.) they usually call it adjustment disorder. I don't know what your situation is, but I know that I'm very resistant to change. WHen change does happen, it takes me a very long time to adapt.
That's the way I understand it! Hope it helps! Don't let labels get ya down! When I was diagnosed as borderline personality disorder I threw a fit because I'd heard about it in abnormal psych class. Finally my therapist said that insurance companies are the only people that like labels. As for me, I had the same problems with or without a label. Personally, I think that when the depression is under control a lot of the other labels disappear as well.
sorry, i'm reeeaaaallllyyyy sleepy, hope this made sense!

hi Lana,
Thanks for the reply. Yes I have a hard time adjusting to new situations too. But sometimes I love new things. But over all , I don't like change very much, I I often don't want to step out of my comfort zone most of the time.
Well, I haven't really started anything new. I went to the doc because I have been very down lately because my friend was diagnosed with a terminal illness. So I have been really down about it. I have such a hard time letting go of people too, like this guy I dated over last summer. I have been having a hard time moving on and forgetting about him. Maybe I am just a senstive person.
Yes, you are right, I think he was just trying to find a name for whatever it is that's bothering me, for insurance purposes.
But for a long time I have been diagnosed with dysthymia, which he also said I have, and I known that for a few years now. It is such a pain in the butt, because my energy gets low so easily . I need to find a way to bring it up. Sometimes I liken it to being like an old person , but I am only in my 20's.
Sorry this is getting so long. But I wonder why do some people have this lower energy than other people, any ideas? My friend with the cancer seems low energy too. I guess like attracts like. But the guy that I dated had kind of a swift energy. I think that is why I liked him so much , he motivated me to do things, and I liked that. Well anyways I guess I'll let this go before it gets too long.
Any thoughts- http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/blob_fire.gif
